In Italy 2

Hey, a quick note that regular blogging will commence after next week. Computer time is so expensive in Italy that its almost impossible to set aside the time to do the country justice. Am I loving it? Yes indeedy.

The thing I love about it is that it is one of the major cultural capitals of Europe yet only in Italy could you get close enough to a da Vinci painting to touch it. Anywhere else it would be behind bullet proof glass but in Italy, hey who cares? (I did touch a Raphael wall, I couldn't help it - I know I'm bad). You go to a church to see a Michelangelo sculpture but did we mention the two Caravaggio's in the corner that aren't even mentioned in the tourist information? The place just seems to seep history, art and all those things that make me slightly goosepimply so I'm having a great time. Oh yeah, on a superficial level everyone is beautiful which helps too... Ahem, anyhow, at this very moment, there is a procession of drummers walking down the streets outside the internet place sounding like an advancing, ancient army... this place is phenomenal.

So what else is new? Annihilation never looked so good! Can't wait for the blood bath. After the poison this man has wrought upon this country, I really hope it happens. I'm in such a good mood at the moment!

Hi Jon,
Brilliant blog.

Noticed you're off to Cinque Terre. If you get this msg in time please take heed: don't try walking between the towns. Particularly not in 35+ degree heat. They make the first >> second town walk a piece of piss but then it gets very difficult very quickly.

Take the boat - trust us, the one town you can't get to by boat isn't worth the effort.

cheers
