I don't think I ever liked head banging stuff. The odd song maybe, but gutteral shouting of incomprehensible lyrics never really floated my boat, even on a sub primeval level. Maybe it was to do with the fact that I resented not being able to jive as a teenager,(I tend to lump head banging and jiving together for some reason) and stood on the sidelines, as blokes I regarded as tossers jived off with all the best girls. Or it could be the thirty or forty greasers who turned up at the next door neighbours, early morning every weekend for two years and played the stuff till dawn, loosening the brickwork in the process, who added to my little pet hate. Any which way you choose you won't find me straying very far from Van Halen's 'Jump' : )
